Pitt Pharmacy's summer camp for prospective PharmD students

Where will I be staying during the camp?

The 2020 RxPlore Pharmacy Summer Camp will be held on the main campus of The University of Pittsburgh in Oakland. Students will stay overnight in Nordenburg Hall, one of our campus residence halls. Most events will be held on campus, and transportation is provided for any events held off campus.
All meals, housing, and activities are included.

What should I bring with me to the camp?

The University will provide:
• Fitted sheet, Top sheet, Thin cotton blanket, Pillow with pillow case
• Washcloth and Towel
A comprehensive packing list will be included with your acceptance packet, however we also suggest you bring the following items:
• Toiletries such as shampoo/conditioner, soap, and deodorant
• Reusable water bottle
• Professional clothing for 2 events (separate days)
• Workout clothes/athletic shoes, Closed-toe shoes, and Shower shoes
• Device charger(s)
• Medications

When will I hear back about my decision?

RxPlore will accept applicants for Early Decision consideration until March 15th. You will be notified by April 1st. Applicants for regular decision materials are due by May 1st. You will be notified by May 15th. Please allow adequate time for your application packet to be reviewed. What are the costs and fees?

The cost of attendance for the camp will be $350. A non-refundable $50 deposit will be required 14 days after receipt of your acceptance to hold a seat. The remaining balance is due no later than June 5th. Address acceptance packets, accompanying documents, and deposits to Robie Gosney at University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy, 229 Salk Hall, 3501 Terrace St, Pittsburgh, PA 15261.

Who Can Get A Financial Aid Scholarship?

Scholarships are available to all students who qualify. If you are interested in applying for financial aid, please fill out the corresponding questions of the application with the most accurate information, so we can make the best assessment.

How many applicants will be selected?

RxPlore will accept a total of 36 competitive rising high school juniors and seniors to attend the 2020 Camp.

What Are The Requirements For the Application?

The application will require an official transcript, one letter of recommendation, and a short questionnaire to help us get to know you!

Do I need any pharmacy experience to attend the camp?

You do not need any pharmacy experience or background to attend the camp. We are looking to show you all that PittPharmacy and the field of pharmacy has to offer!
